honey24The Vermont Beekeepers Association and the Vermont Bee Lab are working to develop an official Vermont honey standard - the  Certified Vermont Honey Program. You are encouraged to help by sending your honey samples for analysis!

Honey samples collected at this time will be genetically analyzed to determine plant source composition, and used to develop a baseline profile for Vermont honey. This baseline honey profile will be used as reference for the Vermont Beekeepers Association's 'Certified Vermont Honey' program.

Instructions for collecting and submitting samples will be included in an email once you are registered. Beekeepers will submit one 1lb jar of honey and be responsible for packaging and delivering the sample to our designated drop-off sites. You will receive a honey report containing information about your sample once the results have come in.

Honey samples may be strained, but NOT filtered. Unheated honey is preferred, but heating is permitted up to 112ºF. Please complete this registration form by October 1, 2024. (Login required to register.)
