Saturday/Sunday May 20-21, 2023 - 9am-5pm - Organic Beekeeping for Beginners -Metta Earth Institute
During this two-day intensive we cover honey bee biology, resources for sourcing bees, choosing an apiary site, and the tools and equipment you will need. Safe, nontoxic, and effective methods for controlling hive pests and diseases such as mites and foulbrood will also be covered, as well as tips on successfully overwintering hives. The class will be punctuated with visits to the bee yard and the opportunity for hands-on experience, weather permitting. I took this class before I got my first colonies. Well worth the time. There's much more to learn after taking this course but this class is a really good start if you're new to or considering beekeeping.
