Hello all ! Has anyone used a different type of "gate" when bottling honey ? Seems that the typical gate drips honey on the sides and eventually down the side of the bottles. I am thinking about trying a "home brew" bottling bucket. Has anyone done that ? The home brew gate may run a little or a lot slower but should be a lot less messy and sticky.
Thanks, Peter

Hello Boys and Girls. I answered my own question....I purchased a new home brew bottling bucket with spout. Much smaller than a honey gate. And guess what, it did not work very well. I attempted to fill the first jar and it took forever to fill. I gave up after the first few minutes with hardly any honey flowing. Also when the spout was turned off it took some time for the honey to stop dripping. Worth a try but not successful. Duh !!!! Peter
