Hi everyone really considering building a honey house to withstand 150-200 production Colonies what size building do you recommend an what are some things I should keep in mind when designing the building? We have a ways to go to get to this point but just trying to plan ahead any insight would help. thanks ahead for all advise.
Be sure to check out the Vermont Apiary law on locating colonies if you plan to exceed a total of 15 colonies.

I don't know anything about the size of a "honey house", but am curious, as to where in Vt. is there a "forage" situation to sustain 150 to 200 hives in one location ? Or, are you just planning on storing them over Winter ? I mention this because there was some discussion at the VBA Winter Meeting, yesterday, about locating hives and forage. Good luck. Peter
