Poplar has been earlier than the soft maples for several years here in Hartland, about the first thing out there. Definitely earlier than dandelion. And coming out by the end of March for the past few years. That's not to say that the bees can always work it, but it sure is nice to see.

I wonder where they got their information...White Dutch clover, Basswood, and White Sweet Clover not significant bee plants.
