Had two hives today show up with a limited amount of spotty brood and no sign of a queen in either. Is it too late to find a queen for them? How worried should I be?

Good amount of honey in each, along with bees, but I chose to feed them and added a pollen patty just to help.

Any recommendations on my next steps?

Thanks Mike - I did a 2:1 sugar solution for now to hopefully beef them up quickly. I'll keep doing that!

Feed them until they're up to winter weight, and leave them alone.

Queens shut down at this time of year...especially with the drought we're having.
