Hi all!
My husband and I are new to beekeeping
we brought our nucs home on Saturday and let them settle a little. The next day was warm and sunny, so my husband took the opportunity to transfer them into their hives. All seemed well, but that evening he said he saw my queen just outside the entrance of the hive. He was able to get her back in and we blocked off most of the entrance overnight. I couldn't find much research on why this may have happened or what it means, any ideas? The day we took them home was the snowy May day, so I wasn't sure if maybe there was some hive stress from being cold and not having a chance to gather more food, but we did put plenty of food in the new hive for them. All seemed well this morning, and when I do my first inspection I'll see how she's doing
Thanks!
