Tunbridge World's Fair

Dear VBA members,
The VBA Fair Committee is once again soliciting honey and other bee-related products to be sold at the Fair. This activity is a large annual fund-raiser and promotional event for the VBA. Last year over 30,000 people were in attendance, and our booth is very popular with the fairgoers.
To make this process both fair and simple, we have a few guidelines for your submissions:
§ You must be a current member of VBA.
§ Containers should be of standard commercial variety and sizes, such as Queenline jars,
NOT Mason jars or the like.
§ Name, contact info and town must be shown on all containers: see attachment for labeling regulations.
§ Honey may be sold in one-pound, 2.5-pound and five-pound jars. The retail prices will be:
$15, $35 and $70 respectively.
§ Income split is 80/20 percent – beekeepers/ VBA.
§ You will have a limit of one case of 24 one-pound jars or the approximate equivalent.
§ You must submit a hard copy of your invoice with the number and size of your containers along with your honey or other products. Be sure to include: name, mailing address, phone and email.
§ For acceptable hive-based products other than honey – name your retail price on your invoice.
§ You may also submit hive-based products with ingredients that are commonly considered to be food items or hive products such as propolis, beeswax, and pollen so long as they contain no ingredients described in the next section.
§ You may NOT submit any honey or hive product that contains ingredients that are considered to be:
a. Dietary supplements as defined by the FDA https://www.fda.gov/food/dietary-supplements/dietary-supplement-products-ingredients
b. Drugs or drug products defined by the FDA https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cder/daf/index.cfm?event=glossary.page
c. Any product that is added to honey or hive-based products to provide a therapeutic or medical effect.

OR GO DIRECTLY TO THE FAIR ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16 between 2pm-7pm. We are located in the Dodge-Gilman Building. We cannot accept honey during the fair even if you are a volunteer.
HONEY SAMPLES: We have observed that honey sellers who provide a sample jar sell more honey. If you would like to provide an additional jar for use as a sample please do and be sure to mark it as sample and include your honey label on the jar.. The sample jar may be a separate 1 pound jar, a jelly jar or any smaller jar.
We hope that if you have three or fewer jars remaining to be sold at the end of the fair, you will consent to donate them to a local food shelf in Tunbridge, South Royalton or Sharon. If you have more unsold jars, you will be notified, and they will be returned to the collection point where you dropped them off. Please plan to pick them up as soon as possible. The VBA Treasurer will mail you a check for your portion of the sales.
